Kids' Craft: How to Make a Snow Globe

A little glitter creates a magical snow globe.

We can never get enough of DIY snow globes even when the wind is blowing a little too much this winter! For those without a chance of snow on the ground due to their geography, this indoor craft for kids lets everyone shake up a little winter magic of their own.

Create an entire winter wonderland by adding bristle brush trees and small plastic figurines, toys, or whatever you have on hand. Blizzards in a jar only take a few minutes to make—three easy steps—but are a huge hit with little ones. Materials for Snow Globe Craft

  • Mason Jar
  • Glitter
  • Water
  • Light corn syrup
  • Bristle brush trees  and plastic figurines or toys
  • Hot glue gun

1. Fill a jar or bottle with equal parts water and corn syrup. Add as much glitter as you'd like.

2. Use the hot glue gun (grown-ups or big kids only, please!) to secure the bristle brush trees and figurines to the inside of the mason jar lid. After the glue dries, place the lid on the jar.

3. Shake and swirl the jar around to create your own personal snowstorm.
