Celebrate Diwali at Olney Library

Celebrate Diwali with a recital featuring traditional Indian music, including vocals, sitar, and tabla. Learn about the history of traditional Indian music through an introductory instruction of each of the featured instruments.
Participants will also enjoy a Bandish, which is a classical song about Diwali. Audience participation will be encouraged.
The featured performers are:
- Mallar Goswami, tabla player, who studied with Pt Govindo Bose and Sri Probir Goswami
- Harsh Kinchi, sitar player, who learned sitar from various gurus: including Ustad Shahid Parvez and his lineage and also sings gazals
- Sunetra Mahajan, vocalist, who studied with Vidush Usha, Tilekar-Deshpande, and Smt Dhanashree Pandit-Rai
