Weekend Fun for LI Kids: Frozen Sing-a-Long, Movies on the Beach, Peter Pan, July 18-19

Outdoor fun doesn't have to end once the sun sets. Catch a movie on the sand in Long Beach, or at Nickerson Beach. Or join in a Frozen sing-a-long in Massapequa.

If you're on the East End, families can enjoy a puppet show at Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre or a sunset family nature hike in Amagansett.

If you're craving some theater, head to the Long Island Children's Museum for Peter Pan, or Smithtown for Cinderella's Glass Slipper or Oakdale for Cinderella Kids.

This weekend, visit the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington as it celebrates its 95th anniversary with free admission and various events, including a selfie booth, caricatures and Lego artist.

Then on Sunday, Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay opens their new Sensory Garden for children, who can touch, taste and smell the surroundings. Afterwards, enjoy a scoop of homemade ice cream, compliments of ingredients gathered from the on-premise garden.

You can sling some dirt at International Mud Day at the Suffolk County Farm, or catch various versions of Cinderella onstage in Garden City, Oakdale and Smithtown. If you're looking for a bang for no bucks, there are fireworks in Eisenhower Park (rescheduled to Monday, June 29) and Point Lookout this weekend, too.

Families can cap off their Saturday with a free outdoor movie in Long Beach, or explore lavishly decorated greenery at Old Westbury Gardens.
