Dust off your hot glue guns and sewing skills—OSH's Halloween costume contest and mini-parade gets Halloween off to an early start. Halloween crafts and a costume contest are held in the J.J. Byrne Playground. After the contest, all participants parade around Washington Park.

Awards are given in the categories of:

  • Strollers/Wagons/Bikes
  • Babies in arms
  • Group Costumes
  • Animals and Nature
  • Scary Creatures
  • Pop Culture Characters
  • Costumes made from Recycled Materials
  • Classic Halloween /li>

Thrifty, DIY, and recycled-materials costumes have an edge when it comes to winning.
