27th Annual Running of the Great North River Tugboat Race & Competition
More than 15 tugboats are expected to participate in the 27th Great North River Tugboat Race and Competition, which features the race, nose-to-nose pushing contests, and a line-throwing competition by tugboat crew members.
Be part of the action on the Circle Line Spectator Boat. When you return to the pier at 12:30 pm, head over to Pier 84 for more exciting events. You can test your mettle in the amateur line-toss competition or participate in other kid-friendly activities.
Board from Pier 83, West 43rd Street and Hudson River Park. Boarding begins at 10:15am. Spectators will be onboard from 10:30am to 12:30pm. There's also free public viewing on shore.

11:15 am - Parade of Tugs from Pier 84 (located at W. 44th St. & 12th Ave. ) to the start line @ Pier i @ W. 70th St. in Riverside Park
11:30 am - Race Starts from Pier i down to Pier 84
Noon - Tugboats on water nose-to-nose pushing contests & line-toss competition
1 pm - Kid activities on Pier 84
2 pm - Awards Ceremony
3 pm - Tugs depart
