Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Adds Huge New Activity Pool
If you're looking for new ways to beat the heat this summer, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is offering a bigger, better, and much wetter place to cool down. The 45-acre water park in Jackson, NJ, welcomes Calypso Springs, a 100,000-gallon, beach-entry-style activity pool, where parents and kids of all ages can swim and play together. The new addition, Hurricane Harbor's largest expansion since 2000, will be open in time for summer 2019.

Also known as Six Flags Great Adventure's "cool" neighbor, Hurricane Harbor is already home to a million-gallon wave pool, a half-mile lazy river, more than 25 high-speed thrill slides, and two interactive children's water playgrounds. But Calypso Springs brings the best of all worlds together. Guests can cool down while relaxing or bracing for a spontaneous eruption from the geyser that tops the obelisk-style fountain in the center of the pool.

Families can cool off and chill out in Calypso Springs after tackling Hurricane Harbor's more intense attractions.
You can find Calypso Springs between the Taak It Eez Ee Creek lazy river and Tornado water slide.
Those hoping to catch some rays and enjoy the sunshine can rest along the lounge deck where hundreds of chairs await. Those who prefer shade can chill beneath oversized umbrellas; additional shade covers will be available to rent as well. Recognizing that food just tastes better when you're eating outdoors, Calypso Springs will offer its own dining section, too.
"Hurricane Harbor is an industry leader with best-in-class water slides and spectacular, interactive family attractions, and in 2019 we are excited to debut our largest new addition to date with Calypso Springs," said Six Flags Great Adventure President John Winkler in a press release. "This enormous, new pool, expansive lounge deck, and dining area will offer the perfect place to enjoy signature Six Flags summertime thrills."
Hurricane Harbor opens for the season May 18.
General admission: $48.99; children under 48": $38.99; children 2 & under: free. Tickets purchased in advance and online typically offer a discount.
