Join MODS for a fascinating sea turtle presentation followed by a guided walk to the beach to search for nesting loggerhead sea turtles. While sightings aren’t guaranteed, witnessing a nesting loggerhead sea turtle is a breathtaking experience your kids won’t soon forget.
The loggerhead turtle, so named for its large head, is the most abundant species of sea turtle that nests in the United States. Juvenile and adult loggerheads live in U.S. coastal waters, but many adults that nest on U.S. beaches migrate from neighboring nations like the Bahamas, Cuba, and Mexico. Loggerheads can live to be up to 80 years old!
