Santa Monica Community Purim Carnival
Santa Monica's two reform synagogues—the Santa Monica Synagogue and Beth Shir Shalom—join forces for Purim to create a true community-wide event.
18th Street is closed to traffic for the celebration, between Santa Monica Blvd. and Broadway, allowing the carnival to fill the street as well as the temple parking lot on Sunday, from 11am to 3pm.
Members of both synagogues along with all other families from Santa Monica and neighboring communities are invited to enjoy games, rides, bouncy houses, a maze, a bungee run, a rock wall, henna tattoos, painless paintball, bracelet making and other fun carnival attractions. Food options include food trucks (In 'n' Out is the star of the show), a bake sale, and hot dogs. Also, members of the community sell items ranging from olive oils to granola.
Costumes are welcome.
