Night Sky Festival

Price: Free
Families can join night sky enthusiasts and astronomers to view the night sky and discover the vast expanse beyond earth. Telescopes are directed at neighbor planets, shiny nebulae, and distant galaxies.
The festivities start before the sun goes down. The event features the following:
- Special guest presenter Dr. Travis Longcore present his talk, Light Pollution, Wildlife, and You.
- Kids’ activities (including Night Sky Junior Ranger activity book & patch)
- Search for bats with a ranger and use a special bat detector
- See distant objects up close with telescopes in the field
- Native American Indian stories & games about the night sky
- Food vendors
Headlamps and flashlights with red lights are preferred to preserve night vision.
