CicLAvia - Mid City Meets Pico Union
CicLAvia connects Mid City and Pico Union with a four-mile route of open streets for people to experience our public streets in a transformative, car-free way.
CicLAvia is free to attend; participants are encouraged to jog, ride, bike, skate, run, walk, skateboard, or spectate along the route.
The route connects event hubs at Mid City (Washington Blvd, east of La Brea), Arlington Heights (Venice Blvd, west of Arlington Ave);and Pico Union (Venice Blvd, west of Hoover St. )
Hubs have family-friendly activities, restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking, and first aid. In addition, free pedicab rides, sponsored by AARP, are available at each information booth.
The interactive map details activities along the route, as well as restaurants, landmarks and such.
CicLAvia is derived from a Spanish term for "bike path," and its goal is to turn LA into one big bike path, if just for a few hours. People are encouraged to leave their cars at home and bike, walk, skateboard, or push a stroller to discover our beautiful city at non-motorized speeds. CicLAvia offers a wide variety of activities for people of all interests and ages, including music, performances, food trucks galore, and more.
