Update:  due to the ongoing government shutdown, this year's Archeology Day has been canceled.

Wannabe Indiana Joneses can live out their "archaeologist for a day" fantasies at this free event at King Gillette Ranch.

Guests can listen to presentations by local archaeologists, watch flint-knapping demonstrations, try their hand at throwing an atlatl (spear-thrower), dig up "artifacts" like an archaeologist in the hands-on excavation box, see genuine local artifacts on display, become a Junior Archaeologist and earn a special patch, and visit an array of information booths. 

This free event is for all ages.
