Art & Garden Family Day at the Nassau County Museum of Art
Join the Nassau County Museum of Art for an opening reception of a new exhibition of children’s book illustrations at The Manes Art & Education Center.
Picture This! The Art of Children’s Books on view from September 21 through January 12, 2020, features contemporary illustrators and artwork from the collection of The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
In honor of how books help to sow the seeds of literacy, togetherness and imagination, this special day is in partnership with ReWild Long Island. Families can help to plant a pollinator garden at the Manes Center. Children (and adults) will be delighted to learn about the magic of milkweed, coneflowers, yarrow and beebalm in creating earth-friendly habitats. More information about these native plants and how community members can help to rewild Long Island in their own backyards can be found at www.rewildlongisland.org/fall2019
