CicLAvia - Heart of LA
CicLAvia celebrates its 15th birthday with a "party in the streets" along the Heart of LA route. The 7.15-mile route connects Westlake, Downtown LA, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Arts District, and Boyle Heights .
Local gems along the way include Historic Broadway Theater District, Grand Central Market, the Bradbury Building, the 6th Street Viaduct, Thien Hau Temple, Chinatown Central Plaza, and many more.
Participants can jog, ride, bike, skate, run, walk, skateboard, spectate, and play, and may show up anywhere along the route to enjoy the open streets and explore the ‘Heart of LA.’
Hub Locations:
- MacArthur Park (2201 W 7th St)
- Chinatown ( 942 North Broadway)
- Little Tokyo (121 South Central Avenue)
- Mariachi Plaza (1801 E 1st St)
Hubs are walking zones (bike dismounts) and meeting points along the route. Hubs offer family-friendly activities, restrooms, free water refilling stations, free basic bike repair, bike parking, and first aid. Free pedicab rides are also available at each information booth.
The interactive map has more details on the route, hubs, and businesses along the way.
CicLAvia is derived from a Spanish term for "bike path," and its goal is to turn LA into one big bike path, if just for a few hours. People are encouraged to leave their cars at home and bike, walk, skateboard, or push a stroller to discover our beautiful city at non-motorized speeds. CicLAvia offers a wide variety of activities for people of all interests and ages, such as music, performances, food trucks galore, and more.
