9:30 a.m. – The Rhythm of Story: Africa to America
Beloved Atlanta storyteller and children’s author Mama Koku takes the stage! With humor, music, and plenty of audience participation, Mama Koku brings African folktales and African American history to life in unforgettable ways. Her engaging storytelling has been featured by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The High Museum of Art, and the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. And if she looks familiar, adults may recognize her from her small but memorable role in the classic film The Color Purple.

11:30 a.m. – Blacktop Playground Improv for Kids
Get ready to laugh out loud as the Blacktop Improv, with credits on BET, HBO, and Comedy Central, turn kids’ suggestions into side-splitting comedy. Their child-like sense of humor and lightning-fast creativity make every show a one-of-a-kind adventure where the audience is part of the action.
